April 14th, 2011

(4/14/2011 Brownsburg, IN)  Team DDR Motorsports and driver David Grravel have a great deal of confidence heading into this weekend’s showdown with the World of Outlaws at Paducah International Raceway and I-55 Raceway. The team will also have some new partners on board for the trip and the rest of the season.  The familiar IGA Hometown Wheels will once again be part of Team DDR with new partner The Basement Doctor coming on board for the 2011 season. Basement Doctor is headquarted in Columbus, Oh and can be found on the web at www.jdbasementsystems.com  Gravel who has never competed at Paducah likens it to Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN  a track he has been very competitive on in the past.

“We glad to have IGA back for this year and to welcome The Basement Doctor on board.” said Gravel.  “I think we can give em both a real good run this weekend with the Outlaws and show em what were made of.  Rob has experience at Paducah and has had some strong runs there, and that is great for my confidence.” Read more »

Gravel posts best career finish with the Outlaws!

(2/26/2011 Magnolia, MS) Young Gun David Gravel had never raced at Pikes County Raceway in Magnolia, Ms much less even visited the state but that didn’t seem to matter last evening. The 18 year old from Middlebury, CT didn’t need to know the track to be Fast, and fast he was! From the moment the JRC Transport J&J with Kistler engines unloaded they were very confident in the package that they had brought. When hot laps took the track, Gravel would find himself in the 3rd set of cars and go out and lay down the fastest lap amongst the group and 3rd fastest over all.

The late number he drew in qualifying didn’t seem to slow him down in the least, he was nearly the last car to hit the track and turned the 2nd fastest time of the night. Starting 4th in the second heat Gravel was on the loud pedal from the drop of the green going to high side of the track and blasting by former World of Outlaw Champions Steve Kinser and Donny Shatz to move into 2nd place, which is where he would finish. Next on the list of events was the dash inversion draw, the number 4 was drawn which would mean Gravel would start 3rd in the Dash. When the green waved the youngster was on the move, taking it 3 wide into turn one and making the move to the lead, he never looked back all the way to the checkered flag. Read more »
