Misfortune halted a strong run on Friday at Kevin Harvick\u2019s Kern Raceway in Bakersfield, Calif., where David Gravel was running second in the final laps when a flat tire relegated him to a 17th<\/sup>-place result \u2013 his second-worst finish in a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series points race this season.<\/p>\n The team responded on Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway, where Gravel was second quickest in qualifying before he placed second in a heat race, the dash and the main event.<\/p>\n \u201cBill (Balog) was awesome early on in lapped traffic,\u201d he said in a post-race interview on DIRTVision. \u201cHe was the class of the field. And then there at the end he started getting spinny. It seems like he got a hole in his right rear. When I had the whole bottom to myself, I was definitely gaining on him. Once he kind of moved down my car kind of unhooked. I still had a shot at it though.
