Inside Line Promotions \u2013 BRANDON, S.D. (Sept. 1, 2025) \u2013 Big Game Motorsports driver David Gravel posted a second-place showing on Sunday during the L.G. Everist Huset\u2019s Shootout presented by Myrl & Roy\u2019s Paving at Huset\u2019s Speedway.<\/p>\n
It marked the team\u2019s 12th<\/sup> runner-up result and the 32nd<\/sup> podium performance of the season. It was Gravel\u2019s 14th<\/sup> consecutive top five during a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series points-paying race.<\/p>\n Following a rainout on Saturday, wet weather again invaded the track on Sunday, creating a fast track. Gravel set quick time during qualifying before he won both a heat race and the dash from the pole position. That provided the pole position for the 40-lap feature, which Gravel led for the first 35 laps before a miscue.<\/p>\n \u201cI just got the right rear (tire) plugged in the cushion and got tight and couldn\u2019t get off of it and got over the cushion off of (turn) 2,\u201d he said in a post-race interview on DIRTVision. \u201cBummer for my guys. Definitely had a car capable of winning there. Man, I felt like I was good on the bottom of (turns) one and two, but the lappers were running low so I ran high, and it just cost me.\u201d<\/p>\n Gravel\u2019s second-place outing keeps him in the lead of the World of Outlaws championship standings by 168 points heading into the Desert Showdown this Friday and Saturday at Vado Speedway Park in Vado, N.M.
