Inside Line Promotions – PARK CITY, Kan. (March 31, 2026) – David Gravel guided Big Game Motorsports to a pair of top-10 finishes during a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series doubleheader last weekend.
The highlight of the weekend was on Friday at U.S. 36 Raceway near Osborn, Mo., which hosted the KC Classic. Gravel set quick time during qualifying for the fourth time this season before he won a heat race – his eighth in the first 10 races of the season. A fifth-place finish in the dash was followed by a third-place outing in the main event, marking the team’s eighth podium performance of the year.
“Just kind of survive and move on type of mentality,” he said in a post-race interview on DIRTVision. “I felt like we were pretty good. Those guys were good. That’s more of their cup of tea. I’m happy to finish third.”
81 Speedway showcased the Tallgrass Tussle on Saturday and Gravel kicked off the program by establishing a new track record during qualifying. A heat race victory was followed by a charge from eighth to fifth place in the dash. Gravel ran inside the top five early before ending the main event sixth – his ninth top 10 of the season.
The team holds a 48-point lead in the World of Outlaws championship standings entering a rare weekend off – the last until the Fourth of July Weekend.
The next event is April 10-11 at I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park in Pevely, Mo., during the Federated Auto Parts Spring Classic.
