Inside Line Promotions – VADO, N.M. (Sept. 8, 2025) – Big Game Motorsports driver David Gravel added a new track to his win’s list last Friday at Vado Speedway Park.
The victory was Gravel’s 14th of the season and his 13th official triumph during World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series competition – the most of any driver.
“It was great,” he said. “That air there in that elevation is really bad to make horsepower. The last time we were there our engines didn’t run too good. Cody (Jacobs) and Brian (Morrison) worked together and got the engine to run well and it showed. We qualified well and it showed all night long.”
Gravel qualified second quickest before he won a heat race. He finished where he started – second – in the dash to line up on the outside of the front row in the main event.
“Logan (Schuchart) closed off the top there and I fell to third on the start,” he said. “I had to settle in and see how the rest of the race would play out. It was going to be all about traffic. Kerry (Madsen) got by Logan and made him have to move around. I was able to capitalize to get by Logan for second. Then I showed my nose to Kerry and was able to capitalize on him trying to be aggressive with lapped cars. If they stay in the preferred lane I don’t think I’m getting by them.”
Gravel drove into second place on Lap 20. Three laps later, he maneuvered by Madsen to take the lead en route to winning by more than two seconds.
Saturday’s event finale rained out. Gravel’s lead in the World of Outlaws championship standings is 176 points heading into the first of two weekends in California.
“A win and a rainout, that gets us closer and closer to a championship,” he said. “We wanted to race both nights after winning the first night, but it’s a good way to start off our trip west.”
This weekend’s races are Friday at Bakersfield Speedway at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway in Bakersfield for the Nashville West Showdown and Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway in Perris for the SoCal Showdown.
