Inside Line Promotions – PERRIS, Calif. (Sept. 15, 2025) – Big Game Motorsports rebounded in a big way last weekend.
Misfortune halted a strong run on Friday at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway in Bakersfield, Calif., where David Gravel was running second in the final laps when a flat tire relegated him to a 17th-place result – his second-worst finish in a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series points race this season.
The team responded on Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway, where Gravel was second quickest in qualifying before he placed second in a heat race, the dash and the main event.
“Bill (Balog) was awesome early on in lapped traffic,” he said in a post-race interview on DIRTVision. “He was the class of the field. And then there at the end he started getting spinny. It seems like he got a hole in his right rear. When I had the whole bottom to myself, I was definitely gaining on him. Once he kind of moved down my car kind of unhooked. I still had a shot at it though. If I ran the bottom of (turns) three and four on the last lap, I think I had a chance to win.”
Gravel’s lead in the World of Outlaws championship standings is 144 points heading into the Dennis Roth Classic this Friday and Saturday at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif.
Gravel won the opening night of the marquee event last year for his third career World of Outlaws victory at the track.
