(2/17/2011 Tampa Bay, Fl) The DDR Motorsports Team with driver David Gravel have their sights set on East Bay Raceway this weekend as they compete for the title of “King of the 360’s”. Gravel is coming off a couple of top ten finishes with the All Star Circuit of Champions in the JRC Transport J&J powered by Kistler Engines and finds himself 5th in the championship points. The team is optimistic the “Bad Luck” they suffered during the Outlaw races at Volusia are behind them.
During Sunday nights qualifying with the Outlaws, a motor let go which resulted in David qualifying 27th out of 32 cars. The team worked diligently replacing the exhausted power plant but it was not enough to propel Gravel into the feature. Both Gravel and the team have left that behind and now are focused on the task at hand at East Bay Raceway.
“You have to put those things behind you.” said the 18 year old Gravel. “It’s just one of those things that happens when your racing. Last year in Florida we blew two motors and did not make a single feature, so we have already improved on that. The good thing is we get to race this weekend and start fresh. We have a really good team, with Rob (Hart) heading everything up I leave it up to him and he puts a great car under me week in and week out.”
