Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 15, 2026) – Big Game Motorsports recorded a top-five finish with both Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing and the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series last week.
David Gravel guided the team to a runner-up result last Tuesday at Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Neb., during the Eagle Nationals with High Limit Racing. Three days later, he charged from 11th to fourth at Knoxville Raceway.
“Eagle was good from start to finish,” said Gravel, who set quick time during qualifying, placed third in a heat race and won the dash. “We had a little racing luck in the feature with cautions. I felt we were okay in the beginning of the race, but our car got better when we burned the fuel load off. It was rough and treacherous on the top, which isn’t something we are the best at. We were able to survive and come home with a second-place finish.”
Gravel opened the World of Outlaws doubleheader at Knoxville Raceway on Friday by qualifying sixth quickest in his group. He placed third in a heat race to start the main event on the inside of the sixth row.
“We qualified okay, but not up to our standards,” he said. “We had a really strong heat race of cars around us and ran third. In the feature, we had a couple of good starts and the car really came along at the end. I almost passed Sheldon (Haudenschild) with five or seven laps to go. I didn’t get to clear him and he took my lane. (Aaron) Reutzel passed me back and on the last lap I got him again. At the end of the race, we were one of the fastest cars for sure.”
Saturday’s weekend finale rained out.
Gravel currently leads the World of Outlaws championship standings by 82 points.
This week showcases four big nights of action at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D., which hosts the $150,000-to-win Hefty Seed Huset’s Hustle on Wednesday and Thursday and the $300,000-to-win BillionAuto.com Huset’s High Bank Nationals on Friday and Saturday.
“You get to just go out and race hard,” Gravel said. “Your mindset is to position yourself best with the format and try to be on your game. Not that I’ll be driving differently, but the pressure is off for points so we can focus on the top prize.
“Huset’s has been pretty good for us. Right now, the No. 83 is the car to beat so everybody has to get better to beat him. Having four nights in a row gives us plenty of time to continue to get better on our package at Huset’s. Hopefully we can have good prelim nights and be in a good position for Thursday and Saturday.”
