Inside Line Promotions – BRANDON, S.D. (Nov. 5, 2024) – Big Game Motorsports is one event away from capturing its first career World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series championship.
David Gravel, who is also going after his first title with ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt,’ has driven to a series-best 14 wins to build a 74-point advantage heading into the World of Outlaws World Finals. The event runs this Wednesday through Saturday at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C.
“We’re in a good place,” he said. “We worked hard all year to give ourselves a chance to win the championship. We have a solid lead, but we can’t relax. We still have to go out and perform. We’ll have the same mindset that we do every year and attempt to qualify well to set ourselves up good for the weekend.”
Gravel has produced six career feature victories at the track and has won during the World of Outlaws World Finals five of the last seven years.
“We’d love to get another win or two down there,” he said. “That’s something we are capable of.
“It’s a track that has suited me well. Hopefully it continues to. I’m excited for this week. I feel like our big track stuff is really good. I’m excited to get to Charlotte and cap off the season the right way.”
The simple math is that if Gravel records a top-10 finish during all three sprint car main events of the weekend he will secure the title even if the second-place driver in the championship standings wins all three main events. Of note, Gravel’s 57 top 10s in 63 World of Outlaws starts this season leads the series.
