Inside Line Promotions – WILMOT, Wis. (July 13, 2021) – A five-race week with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series is on deck for Big Game Motorsports driver David Gravel.
The Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic is Tuesday evening at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, followed by four straight nights at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio. The half-mile oval hosts the 38th annual $175,000-to-win Kings Royal on Wednesday and Thursday followed by the makeup version from last year on Friday and Saturday. The finale also pays $175,000 to the winner.
“It’s one of our biggest weeks of the year,” he said. “It’s the biggest this week has ever been with having five races in five days. It’s going to be an electric week with a lot of race cars and a lot money up for grabs. It’s exciting to have a chance to race for that type of money. You have to put yourself in position. You have to be on your game every time you hit the track.”
Gravel has enjoyed success at both tracks. He’s earned a pair of World of Outlaws wins at Eldora Speedway as well as a FloRacing All Star Circuit of Champions victory and a 360ci winged sprint car triumph there. His best-ever result at the Kings Royal is a third-place showing in 2014.
Gravel was victorious at Attica Raceway Park in May when he scored his second career World of Outlaws win at the oval.
The busy week follows the worst night of the season for Big Game Motorsports last Saturday at Wilmot Raceway, where Gravel qualified 14th quickest, placed fourth in a heat race and ended up 19 th in the Badger 40 A Main following a DNF.
“It started off by not qualifying good,” he said. “I raced my butt off to gain a spot in the heat race. We gained a couple of spots early in the feature. I got into the corner and it biked up and I flipped all by myself. We fixed it back up and were able to rebound into the top 10. I thought we were going to salvage the night with a top 10, but I just clipped the infield berm the wrong way and had no chance to save it. It was a night to forget.”
