CJB STOUT TO END JUNE: Gravel and Co. Head into Red Hot July with Speed

July 6th, 2017
Deer Creek event rescheduled to July 6th; Cedar Lake doubleheader on tap
CARLISLE, PA. – July 5, 2017 –  Right as the heart of the sprint car racing schedule settles in, David Gravel and the CJB Motorsports team are ready for grind.

With speed and confidence at their side, the Pennsylvania based team tore into the event at the Dirt Oval at Route 66 Raceway on Tuesday, June 26th. Gravel timed in second before finishing second and sixth in his heat race and the Craftsman Club dash, respectively.

“Route 66 was a fun trip for us,” said Gravel, driver of the GoMUDDY.com, J.R.C. Transportation Inc., C&S Lawn & Landscape #5. “We timed in better, as we wanted to, so that was a plus. We raced well and made up a few spots to finish the feature in fourth. It was a nice run.”

The Outlaws event at Deer Creek Speedway near Spring Valley, Minn. Was delayed due to rain and will be completed on Thursday, July 6th.

That left a stop at Dakota State Fair Speedway near Huron, S.D. as the last stop of the weekend. The team timed in second again before finishing second in their heat. Another sixth-place finish in the Craftsman Club dash had the CJB machine started in the top three rows.

“Dakota was a bit of a disappointment,” said Gravel. “A 13th place finish is something we never really want. We’re a better team overall than that. The good news is that the Outlaw schedule gives you plenty of chances to bounce back and that’s what we intend to do.”

Along with the completion of the Deer Creek event, the tour will head to Cedar Lake Speeway. The track, near New Richmond, Wis., will play host to a double header for the ‘Greatest Show on Dirt.’

“Cedar Lake is a good track for us,” explained the Watertown, Conn. native. “We finished eighth and second there last year. We need to get back to winning. I know we will because we keep working as hard as we can. I have a great team and we’re excited about the opportunities coming up for us.”
