CHARLOTTE CLOSER: CJB Motorsports Ties Up Their Best Season Yet
Gravel adds one final podium finish to bring 2016 Outlaw Season to a Close

CARLISLE, PA. – November 2, 2016 –  David Gravel and the CJB Motorsports team rolled into the season ending Bad Boy Off Road World Finals at the Dirt Track at Charlotte with the intent to pick up their 10th and 11th wins on the season.

As the final checkered flag flew on the season, the team came up just one spot short of making it double digits in the win column.

With three classes at the 4/10th’s of a mile oval in the Queen City, the objective of Thursday, October 27th was to set the lineups the weekend. Two rounds of qualifying allowed the CJB team to lock themselves into great positions for Friday and Saturday nights events.

Gravel kicked off Friday night with a victory in his heat race and then charged forward in the
first of two Craftsman Club dashes.

“We had good runs both nights for sure,” said Gravel, pilot of the Big Game Treestands, J.R.C. Transportation Inc., C&S Lawn & Landscape #5. “Because of the two dashes, we ended up starting our feature in 9th. We made up some ground and learned a few things for Saturday night, which I think made us much better.”

The following night, the final event of the season for the tour and CJB, started off with another heat race victory, the 25th of the season.

“We won our heat race again, which was huge,” said Gravel, who has now won his last four heat races in a row. “We wanted to position ourselves well on Thursday night and we did. We got a good draw in the dash and started up front for the feature. We led some laps and Donny just got buy us. That part was disappointing but Barry and the guys gave me another great car. We ended our season on a high note with a runner up place finish.”

The team now concludes their 2016 season. For both CJB Motorsports and Gravel, it was a career best season. The fact that this was the pairings first season has Gravel excited for the future.

“I’d say we exceeded our expectations this year,” said Gravel. “We feel like we have a really good combination and we will work on that.”
