Outlaws head to Empire State and the Fullton Speedway to be apart of NAPA SuperDIRT week
CARLISLE, PA. – October 5, 2016 –  Sometimes, Mother Nature is simply not a race fan.
Torrential and persistent rains forced Williams Grove Speedway and World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series officials to delay the annual Champion Racing Oil National Open until Friday, October 14th.
“It’s pretty disappointing,” said Gravel, pilot of the Big Game Treestands, J.R.C. Transportation Inc., C&S Lawn & Landscape #5. “We were obviously looking forward to the three day format at the Grove and racing in front of plenty of familiar folks. The purse will be cut from $50,000-to-win to $25,000-to-win. I know we all appreciate the tracks efforts to get the show in and we’re glad that is it rescheduled for same weekend as Port Royal.”
The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series will now move on to be one of the most prestigious weeks in motorsports; NAPA Auto Parts SuperDIRT week. The Outlaws will take center stage on Saturday night at Fulton (N.Y.) Speedway. The racy track is place that Gravel is looking forward to racing at. The Watertown, Conn. driver has had some success at the track by virtue of a 4th place finish in 2014.
“Fulton was a blast to race at the last time we were there,” said Gravel. “I think we will be able to run well there and keep our momentum going. SuperDIRT week is an awesome event. It’s close enough to home that we will have some folks from my hometown coming up to race. Hopefully we can do well while they are watching on. I’m just excited that I can drive up Saturday morning, race and then come home and sleep in my own bed.”
