PETERSEN MEDIA- After picking up a win at a relatively home race a week ago, David Gravel used that momentum to capture three Top Five finishes and another Top-10 to close out the month of July.

“We have really turned a corner the last couple of weeks, and it is great for us with some huge races coming up,” Gravel said.

Fresh off of his Lebanon Valley win, Gravel was in action one week ago in Fulton, NY, and turned in another strong performance prior to heading to Canada.

Setting the standard in qualifications at the Fulton Speedway, Gravel would go on to finish in the fourth spot aboard his Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transportation/3H Cattle entry.

Finishing second in the dash, Gravel would line up on the front row of the feature event alongside reigning series champion, Daryn Pittman.

Slipping to the second spot when the race came to life, Gravel felt heavy pressure from Cody Darrah, as they battled for the second spot, but the Watertown, CT driver was able to fend him off, and maintain his position.

As the laps clicked off, Schatz won a torrid battle between himself and Gravel, putting Gravel in the third spot, as he then hooked up in a battle with a hard-charging, Jessica Zemken.

In traffic, Zemken was able to get around Gravel, putting Gravel in the fourth spot, where he would ultimately go on to finish.

“We were really good early, and it’s nice to get another Top-Five with the World of Outlaws,” he said. “The car got away from us in the closing laps, but we felt good heading to Canada.”

Saturday night at the Speedrome Drummond in Drummondville, QUE, Gravel’s night got off to a nice start as he timed in seventh fastest.

Running second in his heat race, Gravel gridded the field from the fifth row aboard his Mobil1/FK Rod Ends/Weld Wheels entry, and ran a very solid race.

On a surface that didn’t see a ton of moving and shaking, Gravel was able to pick up multiple positions, as he worked his way to a seventh place finish at the finish line.

Sunday night the series moved to the Cornwall Motor Speedway in Cornwall, ONT, and Gravel jumpstarted his night with a ninth quick qualifying effort.

Picking up the heat race win, Gravel would finish second in the Dash, and share the front row of the feature event with Kerry Madsen.

When the race went green, Gravel did not get the start he was hoping for, as he slipped back as far as the fifth spot.

In the 40-lap feature event, Gravel ran inside the Top-Five during the bulk of the race, but in the final 10-laps he began to come alive, as he worked back into the third spot, as he raced hard with Logan Schuchart.

Battling Schuchart for the final spot on the podium during the final laps, Gravel settled for his second fourth place finish of the week.

“We got off to a terrible start in the feature event, but fortunately we had a car that was good enough to run in the Top-Five all night,” he added. “We got pretty good late in the race and rebounded a little, and ended up with a fourth place finish.”

Tuesday night the Canadian trip came to a close, as the World of Outlaws invaded the Ohsweken Speedway.

Timing in 14th fastest in time trials, Gravel would finish second in his heat race, putting him in the seventh row for the feature event.

As the race was plagued by cautions in the early goings, Gravel was able to take advantage of double file restarts, as he slowly worked his way towards the Top-Five.

A long green flag run to close the race was what Gravel needed as he was able to flex his muscles late, and move into the fifth spot, to close out his week with a KSE Hard Charger award.

“We were competitive all week long, and that is a great feeling,” Gravel added. “I have to thank my entire team, Dennis and Teresa Roth, and everyone who supports us, and allows us to compete with the best.”

The Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, 3H Cattle,  Mobil1, FK Rod Ends, Weld Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, and Astro Titanium for their support in 2014.
